UK Garage Frequency Spectrum vs. Pink Noise

Five UK Garage records measured against pink noise, every track gain-matched to -14 LUFS:

  • Sammy Virji “If U Need It”
  • MPH “Raw”
  • Oppidan “MR. SANDMAN”
  • salute “saving flowers”
  • Riordan “TWOSTEP”

UK garage runs sub and bass together at about 8 dB above pink with a narrow, mono low end, then drops to pink from the low mids up and stays within a decibel of it through the presence region. The stereo image is wide through the mids and highs. No snare is outlined: the shuffled percussion lives in the prominent mid layer rather than a single drum hit.
